720 new Climate Justice Ambassadors in Ghana

From the 10th of October to the 5th of December 2015, nine Plant-for-the-Planet Academies took place in Ghana.

During this nine Academies, 720 children from 90 schools in Ghana became Climate Justice Ambassadors and planted over 500 trees overall.

The first Academy was in Walewale, Northern Region of Ghana, at the 10th of October. In total 80 children from 10 schools attended this Academy and graduated to Climate Justice Ambassadors. During the planting session 20 Acacia and 20 Mango were planted.

A week later, on the 17th of October, another Academy took place in Wulugu, Northern Region of Ghana. There attended also 80 children from 10 schools and in total they planted 35 Acacia trees.

Another week later, on the 24th of October, another 80 children from 10 schools attended the Plant-for-the-Planet Academy in Savelugu in the Northern Region of Ghana. They planted 30 Acacia trees, 30 Nim trees and 40 Mango trees.

The fourth Academy took place in Buipe, Northern region of Ghana, on the 14th of November. Like in the other Academies, the full number of 80 participants from 10 schools (8 students from each) appeared. A total of 120 trees was planted which included a blend of Mahogany and Nim.

Another 80 children from 10 schools attended the fifth Academy occurred on the 21st of November in Bawku, Upper East Region of Ghana. The planting had taken place on the Monday afterwards with the assistance of the Forester.

On the same day, another Academy took place in Cheriponi, Northern Region, Ghana. A total of 45 trees which included a blend of Mango, Umbrella and Nim trees was planted by the 80 children from 10 schools.

The seventh Academy occurred on the 28th of November in Yendi, Northern Region, Ghana. The 80 children from 10 schools planted all in all 100 Mango, Umbrella and Nim trees on that day.

On the same day, another 80 children from 10 schools attended the Plant-for-the-Planet Academy in Garu in the Northern Region of Ghana. They planted 50 trees, in a blend of Mahogany and Nim.

The eighth Academy occurred on the 5th of December in Tempane, Upper East Region, Ghana. In total 80 children from 10 schools attended this Academy and graduated to Climate Justice Ambassadors. During the planting session 20 Acacia were planted.
