New Ambassadors Plant 500 Trees after Academy in Thailand

Running Parallel to Thailand's National Greening Programme, Thailand's first Plant-for-the-Planet Academies are in full swing.

Mr. PRATEEP BULAN welcomed the Plant for the Planet representatives’ guest (Acting Sub Lt. JARIN THARMARAAK) and would be ambassadors. In his speech, he told the students the importance of the activity because “Tress are the Hope of the Future generation” and always be thankful that the Hatai Commercial and Technology College school had been given the opportunity to be included in the program.

 

The overview of the program was given by Mr. PRATEEP BULAN and Ms.NATTARIKA PHETKHONG and immediately advanced to the session’s PowerPoint presentations and also the World
Café Module.

The Action planning session was followed by reporting of outputs, most of which highlighted the following activities: (1) set up a nursery, (2) tree planting before December (3) seek support from community people (like: college and school students, parents, friends) (4) monitoring of the planted trees. Through the workshop, students realize the need to put ideas into action. A tree planting activity within the school site culminated the launching program. The students were given t- shirts bearing the Plant for the Planet Academy’s official logo.

With the lunching of this program, the college continues to become an active participant in the quest for a healthier earth thus enabling its students to be globally involved.

Tree Planting Report after the Workshop – 500 trees were planted in the KOR-YO Island, about 30 km from
Hatyai city.

Closing Ceremony – The School Director handed certificates to the newly commissioned Ambassadors for Climate Justice. After which, the Ambassadors commit to expand the school nursery by germinating 200 seedlings each and promised to plant 200 trees before December.
