The Academy took place on 21st. of November of 2018 at the public school Heitor Alencar Furtado in Curitiba, capital of the state of Paraná, south of Brazil. ICLEI (Local Governments for sustainability) and KAS (Konrad Adenauer Stiftung) supported the Academy covering the logistic costs such as the trip of two Climate Justice Ambassadors from Araranguá, Santa Catarina, and the training costs for volunteers. In total 28 new Climate Justice Ambassadors were trained and 100 trees were planted with the support of the municipality of Curitiba. In the next day a cooperation agreement were signed with the mayor of Curitiba, Rafael Greca, guaranting that in the next two years, 40 Academies are going to take place in the city and 10.000 trees are going to be planted by the Ambassadors. The new Ambassadors had the opportunity to take place in the ceremony and present their projects to the mayor and the ministers of environment of the 27 brazilian capitals which were in Curitiba for a meeting organized by ICLEI and KAS.
